Do you want to use Twitter to gain more traffic to your website?
Social media site like twitter are becoming very popular with the search engines. Its because twitter is the place that everyone is hanging out at. If this is the place that everyone is at, and google love this site, why not take advantage of this.
The same seo techniques you use for normal search engine optimization all apply to twitter. As your registering a new account and tweeting, use these simple steps for maximum results.
1) When you register your twitter account use the keyword in the account name. Your username will then be at the end of your twitter url. This will be the first thing the search spiders pickup when visiting twitter.
2) After completion of your account change the bio information. Add your keyword at least twice in the bio. And always make sure your url is in the bio. This will give you a nice backlink from a very high pr website.
3) When you tweet each day keep your keyword in mind. The keyword can be in a link, inside your tweet, or just the keyword itself. Make it look natural and not spammy by blending in the keyword as you post tweets.
4) With millions of users on twitter there will be a huge number of people in your same niche. Find and follow those people who have similar interest. With a big group of like minded tweeters, your link will get clicked on more often than just random people you follow.
5) Let the internet world know about your twitter page. Social bookmark your twitter page with websites like delicious, and post your links on digg, redit. Search engines will then see these bookmarks and visit your twitter page more often.
Gaining more traffic from twitter is actually a very simple process, but must always keep in mind the search engines. To rank high in the search engines use your keyword all over your twitter account.
